5 Things To Do Before Buying A CoverGirl Beauty Product

5 Things To Do Before Buying A CoverGirl Beauty Product

How do you approach your shopping for beauty products? Do you blindly opt for a brand or pick up just about any random beauty product that suits your budget? Do you make informed decision while shopping for cosmetic and beauty products?

It is always better to know a bit more about what you are buying so you don’t make wrong investments and end up buying the best product for you. That is what you should do when buying a CoverGirl beauty product. It is quite possible that you would get a tad overwhelmed when you shop for a CoverGirl beauty product. The vast inventory, the spectrum of various types of products and the literature presented by CoverGirl can overwhelm almost any shopper. To make things simpler, you need a strategy. That strategy can be broken down to these five steps. Adhere to these five simple things to do and you would always pick the best CoverGirl beauty product for yourself.

  • Once you are at the CoverGirl store, online or offline, start by browsing the collection. The collections are categorized neatly and that should make it easier for you. Don’t check out multiple types of beauty product or more than one category at a time. There are enough beauty products to make you perplexed. Stick to a particular collection of CoverGirl beauty product and you would get accustomed with the inventory.
  • Explore the tips section or advice offered by CoverGirl. There is an in-house expert who would offer you enough information to help you choose the finest CoverGirl beauty product. Don’t buy immediately after reading the tips. There is something more you should do.
  • Try out the Fab Lab of CoverGirl. Fab Lab is basically a virtual makeup studio where you can try out various kinds of makeup and check out how they look. You can actually emanate yourself on the site by having a face with features that matches yours and you can try out various products to know what would look better. This is a great initiative by CoverGirl as it helps you to narrow down your search of beauty products to a select few.
  • Once you are done with Fab Lab, decide what you want and discard what you don’t want. There shouldn’t be much room for speculation or indecisiveness.
  • As you get closer to a few specific products on CoverGirl, compare them to know which one would be the best for you. Budget should not be the sole criterion.

What’s So Unique About CoverGirl Beauty Products?

What’s So Unique About CoverGirl Beauty Products? There’s no dearth of manufacturers of cosmetic products. Many of them are brands enjoying popularity across the globe and there are many more that have a limited target audience or a relatively smaller outreach. In addition to the brands, the conventional stores and typical ecommerce sites, there are some niche stores that sell makeup or beauty products. Most of these niche stores will focus on certain brands. CoverGirl is one such destination. While there is a lot about CoverGirl which you should explore, it may be worthwhile to learn what’s so unique about any CoverGirl beauty product.

Any company or store selling cosmetics or beauty products would claim to have the best of the best but that’s not a claim that CoverGirl makes. It simply attends to a very well defined requisite of fashion and makeup conscious women. It is fairly simple to get encouraged by an advertisement or commercial and then to try out a makeup or beauty product. With CoverGirl, that is not what you do.

When you shop for any CoverGirl beauty product, you are buying something very specific. You may not be certain of what you are looking for but you would end up with a product that is ideal for you. The focus is not on selling any CoverGirl beauty product or that of any brand. The purpose is to help you find the right beauty products for you so you can look better. There are innumerable instances of fashion and makeup faux pas in general. Even professional models get it wrong sometimes. People with weird makeup and wrong choices of beauty products are galore in the real world, especially when there is no professional intervention.

When you shop for a CoverGirl beauty product, you don’t buy just about any item without the prior knowledge of whether or not it would be suitable for you. That is where the brand of CoverGirl has carved out a niche for itself. You get to explore all kinds of beauty products. The inventory is huge but the inventory of advice and tips is also massive. You would not go wrong with your choice of CoverGirl beauty product which directly implies that you would not go wrong with your makeup. Even if you are unaware of the precise application process of certain makeup or beauty products, then you would get immense help while buying a CoverGirl beauty product.

What Makes CoverGirl Beauty Product Brands The Ultimate Destination For Fashionistas

What Makes CoverGirl Beauty Product Brands The Ultimate Destination For Fashionistas

There are multiple reasons for the growing popularity of CoverGirl beauty product brands. The world of CoverGirl is certainly enticing and any fashionista or even fashion conscious women would love to be a part of it. But it isn’t just the glitz or hypes that make CoverGirl beauty product brands the ultimate destination for fashionistas. There are some technical aspects which play a more important role.

CoverGirl beauty product brands target very specific purposes. There is no CoverGirl beauty product that claims to give you a solution to every problem in one tube. No advert says that one swipe of a specific CoverGirl beauty product will make you amazingly sexy or almost unrecognizable, in a good sense. There is no such magic wand or makeup product that can hide fine lines, contribute to glows or blushes, sparkle the area around the eyes and ensure a lip color for twelve hours or more. You cannot expect such results or impacts from any one product. When you shop for any CoverGirl beauty product, you would notice that there is something for everyone and that specific inventory is simply the best.

For instance, the CoverGirl Queen collection is exclusively for dark skin. Makeup for dark skin has to be completely different from what would be applicable for fairer skin. One doesn’t have to be black to have dark skin. The skin tone is what matters more and even apparently fairer people may have darker skin tones. Light skin tones take considerably more makeup to make facial or physical features more noticeable. Darker skin tones make it relatively easier and thus a different kind of makeup and less quantum of it is necessary. This is just a simple way of differentiating a CoverGirl beauty product for specific skin tones.

Then you have the CoverGirl Clean collection which is meant for various kinds of skin based on their dryness and oiliness. Oily skins demand water based products and not milk or cream based. Likewise, drier skins will require milk or cream based. Heavy makeup would be futile on oily skins. Such realities are addressed by the CoverGirl Clean collection.

Whether it is the Outlast collection that offers long-lasting makeup products or the truBlend for that amazing nude look makeup, buying a CoverGirl beauty product ensures that you are going with one that is meant for you.

CoverGirl Outlast Smoothwear All-Day Lipliner in Blush

CoverGirl Outlast Smoothwear All-Day Lipliner in BlushI happened to be out and about shopping one day when I ran across the CoverGirl Outlast Smoothwear All-Day Lipliner in Blush. Since I really, really needed another good lip liner at the time, I decided to purchase the CoverGirl Outlast Smoothwear All-Day Lipliner in Blush in hopes that it would be a good lip liner. I paid around $5 for the CoverGirl Outlast Smoothwear All-Day Lipliner in Blush at the time that I purchased it.

About four days after I purchased the CoverGirl Outlast Smoothwear All-Day Lipliner in Blush, I tried it out. I applied some of the CoverGirl Outlast Smoothwear All-Day Lipliner in Blush to the outside edge of my lips and then I applied a pink shade of lip color inside the lines that I had made with the CoverGirl Outlast Smoothwear All-Day Lipliner in Blush. I thought that my lips looked very nice with the CoverGirl Outlast Smoothwear All-Day Lipliner in Blush and a pink shade of lip color applied to my lips.

The CoverGirl Outlast Smoothwear All-Day Lipliner in Blush showed up as a medium pink on my lips. That’s the main reason that I decided to wear a pink shade of lip color with the CoverGirl Outlast Smoothwear All-Day Lipliner in Blush when I was wearing it. I thought that the CoverGirl Outlast Smoothwear All-Day Lipliner in Blush matched the lip color I was wearing pretty well.

The CoverGirl Outlast Smoothwear All-Day Lipliner in Blush didn’t wear off too much during the day. The CoverGirl Outlast Smoothwear All-Day Lipliner in Blush did wear off just a tad bit when I ate lunch during the day, but other than that it stayed on pretty well. The CoverGirl Outlast Smoothwear All-Day Lipliner in Blush also didn’t seem to smudge or run outside my natural lip line during the day, so that was a good thing.

Overall, I thought that the CoverGirl Outlast Smoothwear All-Day Lipliner in Blush held up really well when I was wearing it. I have worn the CoverGirl Outlast Smoothwear All-Day Lipliner in Blush on several occasions since, and every time I have worn it, it has held up really well. I think that the CoverGirl Outlast Smoothwear All-Day Lipliner in Blush is definitely a very good product. I will be keeping the CoverGirl Outlast Smoothwear All-Day Lipliner in Blush around in my makeup storage drawer.

CoverGirl Concealer Review

CoverGirl Concealer Review

CoverGirl makeup for most of us is a staple for our makeup diet. I am going to do a review on Cover Girl’s concealer, is it all it cracked up to be or are we wasting our money? As you read you will discover the positives and negatives of Cover Girl’s famous concealer.

eview Summary of Cover Girl’s Concealer

Cover Girl’s Concealer is very rich in vitamin E. According to beautifureview.com vitam E helps to heal, conceal and nurture the imperfections of our facial lines. Cover Girl’s concealer was made like so many other products to hide or conceal the scary signs of aging.

Women need to be informed on what the ingredients to many of these anti aging potions and creams. Most of the ingredients in these potions and creams are either dangerous in the long term or simply ineffective. So, with that in mind I will name off the ingredients in Cover Girl’s Concealer. We will see if these ingredients really add to the health of our skin or if it is helping to destroy the very skin we are trying to protect and nurture.

Ingredients and How they are working for us

So, I was going to list all the ingredients, but I figure that would bore the heck out of you and if you have Cover Girl’s Concealer you can just simply read the crazy ingredients for yourself. Cover Girl’s Concealer is of course not to remedy our many skin issues, but it was created to cover up the effects of our skin problems. First, Cover Girl’s Concealer contains basic antioxidant vitamin E. This is good! We all need some Vitamin E for our skin, but Cover Girl’s Concealer is lacking in more essential skin care goodies.

Cover Girl’s Concealer lacks a very important ingredient called Hyaluronic Acid. Hyaluronic Acid is known to moisturize our skin and keep it soft, young and vibrant. This ingredient has been tested and clinically proven to help reduce our wrinkles and restore damaged skin. So, ladies when you are at the mall or drugstore searching for the right concealer or even moisturizer look for products that have Hyaluronic Acid as one of their ingredients. There are a few other very need and essential ingredients that are not in Cover Girl’s Concealer and those are Matrixyl 3000 and Collagen. Sorry, I do not have time to go into detail about these ingredients, but if you want to know more just do a little search on these words on Google and plenty of information will pop up.

So, to break things down what are the positives of Cover Girl’s Concealer:

Cover Girl’s Concealer contains vitamin E.
Cover Girl’s Concealer conceals problem skin
Cover Girl’s Concealer is very easy to order
Cover Girl’s Concealer is fairly affordable

The negatives of Cover Girl’s Concelaer are:

Cover Girl’s Concealer has no refund policy whatsoever, so make sure you really want the product!
Cover Girl’s Concealer does not address any skin problems it only helps to cover them up.
Cover Girl’s Concealer only beneficial ingredient is vitamin E.
Cover Girl’s Concealer website currently has no customer testimonials available.

To wrap it up:

Examine the products you buy for your face. Make sure it has the beneficial ingredients listed above. So many products that we can go and purchase at our local drugstore were created for a quick sale. I guess we get what we pay for, but gees if we are going to pay for anything can we get some true goodness out of it? In my own opinion if you want a healthy choice in concealer, Cover Girl’s Concealer is not the best option. As a consumer be on the look out for products that offer trial usage so you can decide before buying the product to see if it is really right for you. Also, make sure you are able to take the product back if it turns out to be a dud of a product.

CoverGirl Simply Powder Foundation

CoverGirl Simply Powder Foundation

I used to use a liquid foundation and it seemed to work okay. However, over time, I became frustrated with it. I was never very skilled at applying it and sometimes I wouldn’t rub it in very well. Also, I had more than one bottle spill all over everything. Plus, my skin tends to be oily in some spots and dry in others and the liquid foundation would either make the oil worse or dry out the already dry areas.

I finally decided that I needed to find something easier to use that would be a better match for my skin type. I came across Cover Girl Simply Powder Foundation at a local drugstore. What attracted me to it was that it said on the packaging that it covers like a liquid with the lightweight freshness of a powder! This was definitely what I was looking for.

I have been using Cover Girl Simply Powder Foundation for several years now. It costs about $7.00. I like how it comes in a case with a mirror. This makes it convenient to keep in my purse. Also, it comes with a sponge which I think works great. It’s not too rough on my face like other sponges I have used. I like how it is a pressed powder so it doesn’t go everywhere when you apply it like loose powders tend to do.

It is very quick and easy to apply. No more mess. First, I apply a light moisturizer and wait until that is absorbed. Then I apply any concealer , which I only need if I have especially red spots. After the concealer , I apply this powder.

Cover Girl Simply Powder Foundation comes in a variety of shades, but I chose the lightest one #505 Ivory. The color looks very natural. It also covers as well as it claims on the package. I like that this powder doesn’t make my skin flakey, although, sometimes I do need to reapply it later in the day to my oily areas like my nose.

In my opinion, this is the best product I have found for my skin type. I haven’t used anything else since. It makes getting ready in the morning less of a hassle. It also lasts a long time. The sponge is easy to clean too. I just put a little dish soap on it and rub it in then rinse it with hot water and allow it to dry overnight.

CoverGirl’s Professional Loose Powder in Translucent

CoverGirl's Professional Loose Powder in Translucent

I’m going to be honest, Bare Essentials Rare Minerals is by far one of the best loose powder foundations that one can buy, but in all honesty the price is absolutely absurd, and not everyone has a spare $50-$60 laying around to just splurge on their fabulous powdered foundations.

I have found a powdered foundation that works similar to Bare Essentials, for a fraction of the cost, and who would of thought that CoverGirl is the responsible party?

CoverGirls Professional Loose Powder prices in at anywhere from $4.99 to $6.99 depending on where you buy it. I find that Walmart has the lowest prices when it comes to this product, but it also tends to go on sale a lot at Eckerds for a mere $3.00.

CoverGirls Professional Loose Powder has proved to be a diamond in the dirt when it comes to loose powders as it throws all of it’s competition behind. Trust me, I have tried my fair share of loose powders,

My all time favorite has been, and always will be CoverGirl’s Professional Loose Powder in transparent. You can buy this powder in other shades from light to dark, but in all honesty I have tried them, and they tend to leave a dusty colored film behind that sticks to fine hairs on your face. The result is sort of messy, and obvious. The transparent powder shows no color as it rids our face of shine, thus making it the best option available.

Packaging:

The powder comes in a plastic jug. The top will be colored depending on which shade you buy. The transparent shade comes with a blue lid, the top slides off with ease and inside the container is a round poof you use to apply the powder. The bottom of the jug is clear and you are able to get a good idea of just how much powder is left in the container.

A tip I find useful is to throw the round applicator sponge away. These round applicators collect dirt and oils which will cause break outs. Instead go out and buy yourself a makeup brush. A medium sized one will do just fine. I use the brush to apply the powder, which allows the powder to go on more easily and evenly than it would using that nasty round sponge.

The powder can be shaken out through the small holes that are inside of the jug. One little tap on the counter will bring the powder up into the compartment where I dip my brush.

This is probably the biggest issue I have with the loose powder though, if you leave it in your purse it gets shaken up a bit, and too much powder will enter the chamber. When you go to open the top a lot of it can come pouring out if you are not careful.

Before I apply this I will apply CoverGirls Advanced Radiance liquid foundation. I let the liquid foundation dry for about a minute and then I do a quick application of the powder. The powder keeps my face shine free and fresh looking after applying the Advanced Radiance.

What I love about CoverGirl’s loose powder in translucent is that it lasts for hours and does not call for any touch ups. I used to suffer from shiny oily skin, especially in summer months, but with just a quick application of this loose powder I find that my face does not shine at all.

For more information on this product visit http://www.covergirl.com. At the site you can also see other shades, and you can get help on choosing the best shade for your skin tone. It is my opinion though, like I have mentioned already, that you buy the translucent powder. This powder gives your liquid foundation that finishing shine free touch, and best of all it is weightless. You can touch your face and it will feel like your actual skin, and not some rubbery dried out piece of clay.

Overall CoverGirl’s Professional Loose Powder works nearly as well as Bare Essentials expensive loose powders for a fraction of the cost. The powder gives me shine free skin for the entire day without the need to touch ups. The price is fair, it causes no break outs, and the product works. Like I mentioned earlier, be sure to wear this over foundation for the best finish.

The CoverGirl Smoky Eye Look Kit in Glamorous Look

The CoverGirl Smoky Eye Look Kit in Glamorous Look

The CoverGirl smoky eye kit is listed as costing $16.50 at Wal-Mart.com. This averages down to $5.50 per product which is a very good bargain considering the kit includes two eye shadow colors, a liquid eyeliner, and a recently introduced mascara. The kit is very effective at creating a smoky eye, especially after a few practice runs. It would be great to use before a night of dancing or a somewhat impromptu dinner date when there is limited time for customized make-up jobs.

SmokyShadow Blast in Onyx Smoke

The Smoky Shadow Stick has two separate ends. There is a light rounded eye shadow on one end labeled step one. Step two is on the opposite end and contains a darker color featuring a more tapered appearance for more precise application. Using a primer prior to applying these two products would allow extra mileage to be received from the product. I have had friends complain about the darker stick of eye shadow breaking when applied, but I did not experience any issues with it. The box the kit arrives in clearly explains how to utilize the different ends of the eye shadow to create the smoky eye look.

LineExact Liquid Liner Pen in Black Brown

The Line Exact Liquid Liner Pen from CoverGirl is a great product. It is extremely easy to apply, and there is hardly a learning curve needed even if you have never used liquid eyeliner before. I have only used eyeliner cream sticks in the past but was able to use this liquid with just one minor correction on one eyelid. This is labeled as step two in the smoky eye kit from CoverGirl, but for myself, I would probably use it as step one to create a softer edge.

LashBlast Volume Mascara in Black

The LashBlast volume mascaras are just now being promoted heavily by CoverGirl, so by buying a smoky eye kit you would be somewhat ahead of the curve. This is a very good mascara, especially in terms of one available at mass merchandisers and drug stores. The brush separates and lifts the lashes amply with just a couple of swipes on the first coat.

CoverGirl LipSlicks Cosmetic Review

CoverGirl LipSlicks Cosmetic Review

I enjoy trying out new beauty products. My husband probably wishes I didn’t enjoy it so much, because we end up with drawers full of makeup and skin care products that seemed too good to be true and, of course, were. So they sit in the drawers and take up space until I can get over the frustration of spending money on products that don’t live up to my expectations…and then I throw them out.

When I do find a good product, I like to share it with everyone. Recently, I found a terrific lip gloss from CoverGirl, called LipSlicks.

I tend to not care for actual lip sticks. I don’t like the taste or texture of them. I do like lip glosses, but I am usually disappointed with products available because they either provide a hint of color or they soften the lips, but not both. I prefer to buy one product that gives me color and softness so I don’t have to apply a product with a nice color followed by another one to keep my lips from drying out. I’m a one-stop-shop kind of gal.

I was shopping at a Walmart recently when I decided to look for a simple lip balm that would keep my lips from drying out. I didn’t expect to find one that would also have a real splash of color. I was intrigued when I saw the CoverGirl LipSlicks lip gloss. I read on the packaging that the product would keep my lips moist and soft. Bingo! That’s what I was looking for. As an added bonus, CoverGirl LipSlicks was also supposed to provide sheer color (not just a “hint” of color). I immediately thought this product might be a good fit for me, and with CoverGirl’s prices, I didn’t mind trying out a new product.

I bought a tube of CoverGirl LipSlicks in Precious shade for less than $5.00. I tried it on immediately when I got out to the car. Here’s what I learned.

The CoverGirl LipSlicks product is easy to apply. It doesn’t look like it’s caked on and it doesn’t feather out across the lips. The texture is more like a lipstick than I generally would care for, but with this product, I actually like it. Maybe it’s because it doesn’t have the waxy taste or feeling on my lips.

The color showed up much more heavily than I expected – not too much color by any means – but I am just used to lip glosses having such a puny amount of color that I was pleasantly surprised. That being said, it’s not such a strong color that it looks overpowering, so you can apply as much as needed.

To stand the true test, CoverGirl LipSlicks needed to stay put on my lips at least through an entire morning at work and it had to keep my lips soft. If my lips were dried out at the end of this “test,” I was going to throw the product out immediately (instead of tossing it into the Drawer of Misfit Makeup).

Fortunately, the color lasted all morning (even through my standard coffee binge) and my lips remained completely soft; in fact, they were much softer than when I started out in the morning without the LipSlicks. I also have this bad habit of chewing on my lower lip, so I really needed a product that would keep my lips smooth and even. CoverGirl’s LipSlicks product fit the bill.

I liked the Precious shade so much, I bought another in my standard red. The second shade I picked up was called Hipster. This shade is a little darker, which is what I wanted, and it goes on just as smoothly and stays put just as long.

I think CoverGirl LipSlicks lip glosses are my favorite lip glosses I’ve ever bought. The color selection is good, the actual shades on the lips look great, the color stays put for a long time, and it softens and moistens the lips, just like the packaging said it would. I rate this product 5 out of 5 stars based on price, color, and effectiveness.

I checked out the CoverGirl website to see how many color choices were available. There are 12 different shades of LipSlicks. I have also added the link to this product in the supporting links section. I highly recommend this product. And again, with the low cost to try it out, it’s hard to go wrong.

CoverGirl’s Concealer Stick

CoverGirl's Concealer Stick

Hey everyone. I just got a new product today and wanted to let you know what I think. Today we are going to look at CoverGirl’s Concealer Stick. We will be looking at color, texture, application, and coverage of this CoverGirl product. Let’s get started.

Coverage:

Okay, so I work morning shifts starting at 2am and sometimes I don’t get enough sleep and end up getting dark circles underneath my poor eyes. I got this concealer today in hopes of covering those dark circles until I can get some sleep, and now I’m tired and disappointed. Go figure.

So let’s start with the face. I covered a beauty mark under my lower lip with ease. At this point I was thinking “Promising”, and then my hopes were shattered when I moved onto my dark circles. The concealer gave the dark circles light to light-medium coverage and about 40 minutes later I had crease marks. Errr…why do they always have to crease?

The beauty mark is still covered fine and it’s been approx. 4 hours since I applied the concealer, so we’re doing good in that area, it’s just these under eyes! I applied a little clear eye primer on my lids and under my eyes, and the concealer didn’t crease as fast (it took about 2 hours this time to crease).

I’ll give face coverage a thumb up and I’ll give under eye coverage a thumb down.

Application:

Application is rather simple and painless. The concealer is in stick form (so it looks kind of like lipstick). Do not, and I repeat, do not simply swipe the concealer over the problem area! You will waste the concealer and get way too much on your skin.

Use a small concealer brush and pat the product until you get some on your brush. Simply pat the problem area with the concealer brush once you have product and lightly blend with the clean side of the brush or your ring finger. Using your ring finger will apply less pressure to the skin and cause you less grief in the future of your skin.

Color:

There is a wide variety of colors available. I decided to get the “neutralizer” and it is number 730. This is a fair cream color I guess you could call it. It actually has more of a gray tone to it than anything. I wanted to apply foundation over a lighter color under the eyes to give it more of a highlight than anything (trying to brighten my sleepy eyes back up). I would give the color variety a thumb up.

Texture:

This is defiantly a cream/solid. It’s actually a tad tough to get off the stick if you are using a concealer brush. It feels a tad on the plastic side, but it does come off. It’s not plastic…or at least I hope. Once you get the foundation from the stick and onto your finger or brush, it does feel light and silky. You don’t get a heavy feeling on your skin or a clogged feeling you could say. Everything feels lightweight and natural.

I would say this is a good concealer for the price ($5.75). It was a quick pickup from a local drugstore, so I’m sure you can find it near you as well.
